The local government unit (LGU) of Narra, Palawan is set to build a 10-hectare memorial park in Barangay Antipuluan to solve the congestion problem in its old cemetery in Barangay Panacan.
Narra municipal mayor Lucena Demaala said the memorial park will be built in a 10-hectare property donated of the local government, with a budget of P20 million.
“Puno na kasi ‘yung ating sementeryo sa Panacan. Gusto na nga sana ‘yun ipasara ni kapitan,” Demaala said.
The “Narra Municipal Memorial Park” will rise in a municipal property situated in the interior part of Muslim Road, Barangay Antipuluan.
Demaala said that a groundbreaking ceremony was already launched last year followed by strategic and construction planning by the Municipal Engineering Office.
“Nag ground-breaking ceremony na diyan last year, so tinatapos nalang ‘yung ating plano,” Demaala said.
At present, the property is being cleared from obstruction to pave way for the construction of facilities for the new memorial park.
The project will displace some residents, who are demanding for relocation.
