Puerto Princesa City, Palawan – The Naval Reserve Command is looking for reservists to augment its regular force in times of war, rebellion or disaster.
Lt Tomie Jay Molano, Acting Commander, said there are at present around 3,000 ready-reserve Navy in Palawan.
“Hanggang marami gusto, puwede. The more, the better. Kung pwede lang na lahat ng tao sa Palawan, better,” he said.
He said that for mobilization purposes, they will be called to “active” duty as part of the regular force, and will be paid according to their corresponding ranks.
Molano noted that some graduates of NROTC in college who are supposed to be automatic reservist have expressed apprehension of being called to war duty.
“Hindi naman dahil reservist ka pang giyera o pambala. The more na madami reservist mas madami tayong maipo-provide na tao,” Molano said.
He urged all interested reservists to visit the Naval Reserve Center in Camp Tiniguiban.
“Sa mga kababayan natin sa Palawam, inaanyayahan namin kayo sa aming reserve force at makapagsilbi sa ating bayan sa capability na mayroon tayo,” he said.
The basic requirements for enlistment are: accomplished Reservists Information data sheet, Basic/Advance NROTC Certificate, Transcript of Record, PRC License if any, NBI Clearance, NSO Birth Certificate, and 2X 2 picture (white background).
