The municipality of Narra recently announced it will regulate again the manufacturing, distribution, possession, and use of selected firecrackers or other pyrotechnic devices in the municipality in anticipation of the coming holiday festivities as supported by ordinance.
Councilor Ryan Maminta, author of the ordinance which was approved earlier, told Palawan News that the measure is aimed at minimizing or preventing firecracker-related accidents that regularly happens during the season.
“Kunti lang naman ‘yong reported cases pero para ito na maprevent and to deter possible cases na related sa use ng firecrackers,” he said.
The types of firecrackers such as baby rocket, bawang, small trianggulo, pulling of strings, paper caps, el diablo, judas belt, skyrocket, sparkles, lucis, fountain, jumbo, mabuhay, trompillo, air wolf, whistle device, and butterfly are included in the ordinance to be regulated.
“Importante na may aksyon tayo dyan, mayroon namang torotot and other modes na makapag-ingay. Kapag naputukan ka gumastos kana sa pagbili, gumastos ka pa sa pagpapagamot,” Maminta said.
