The Department of Health- Region IV-B Mimaropa warns public to protect themselves while enjoying under the heat of the sun.
According to Regional Director Eduardo Janairo, too much sun exposure can cause damage on skin and other related-diseases. People need to be conscious of this especially those who want to get tanned, he added.
The Provincial Health Office through Health Education and Promotion Officer II Ida Viray also reiterated this warning to as this may cause sore eyes, cold and flu, sun burn, skin itchiness, dehydration and many others.
Dir. Janairo reminds everyone not to forget to apply sunblock on skin to keep it from harmful sun damage.
“It is important to protect yourself from the sun especially from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. As much as possible, minimize swimming time at the sea during this period,” Janairo said. He likewise emphasized the importance of water to avoid heat stroke and dehydration.
