More Than All (A Christmas Poem)

In the midst of all

The festive parties, the food, the sounds

Genuine smiles of people around

I hear Your whisper

You gave me longing

For more than family, friends, or love

Or the quintessence of earthly things

I long for You, Lord

My Christmas should be

A totally different one this year

That which would delight and glorify

The King of kings

So I turn my eyes

Back to You, the reason for Christmas

I love You more than all of these things

Change I will for You

You are God’s love song

Light to the world, Peace to all mankind

What can I give to You but my heart

You deserve my all

“Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart.” Psalm 37:4

Delight yourself in the Lord first. Love Him with all you’ve got. Place Him as the star of your Christmas. When you put Him first, you don’t even need to ask for His benefits, for He will give you the best He has for you. It’s a matter of perspective and personal trust.
