Marines recover NPA supplies in Brooke’s Point

Marines seize in Brooke’s Point paraphernalia of NPA

Marines operating in Brooke’s Point, Palawan recently recovered war equipment and paraphernalia belonging to New People’s Army (NPA) rebels.

Marine Battalion Landing Team-4 (MBLT-4) environment unit and civil military operations officer Captain Wanel Ansa said the war materials consisted of ammunitions, chest rig, medical and dental equipment, and various documents.

On September 21, the 24th Marine Company (MC) of the MBLT-4 headed by 1Lt. Ellaine Collado recovered the first set in the mountainous areas of Barangay Malis, Brooke’s Point town. The second, which consisted of one unit of M16 rifle was recovered on September 24 by a team led by 1Lt. Kelvinson Agustin of the 44th MC in Barangay Salogon.

The discovery of the NPA paraphernalia followed the recovery last August 27 of 14 units of M16 rifles also in Barangay Salogon which military authorities said had dealt a major setback to the local rebels.
