Twenty-six individuals on a fishing vessel were apprehended by police authorities off Linapacan on Monday, February 12, for fishing in municipal waters without required permits.
Elements of the Linapacan Municipal Police Station (MPS) led by PSI Aldrin Atienza conducted a seaborne patrol that resulted in the seizure of commercial fishing boat F/B Justine.
“The said fishing vessel conducted fishing activities without necessary permit, clearance and license from this municipality,” the municipal police station said in a news release.
The apprehended individuals, all residents of Navotas City and Barangay Calibangbangan, Linapacan, have been turned over to the Municipal Agriculturist Office (MAO) for custody and disposition.
Meanwhile, the police station also apprehended 25 individuals fishing with their vessel in Nagalao Reef off municipal waters on February 9, also for the same violation.
