“The Lord will again take delight in prospering you.” Deuteronomy 30:9
God wants to bless you! Yes, you heard it right: God WANTS to bless you, to bless us. He is not forced to bless us because it is His delight. He pursues us to bless us. He loves to show and give us mercy.
“Surely goodness and mercy shall follow (pursue) me all the days of my life.” Psalm 23:6
We sometimes do not believe this, because we look at ourselves more often than we look at the goodness and greatness of God. We often look at our shortcomings instead of seeing that God’s power to forgive is greater than our sins and mistakes.
“We are like little geysers that gurgle and sputter and pop erratically. But God is like a great Niagara–you look at it and think: surely this can’t keep going at this force for year after year after year.” -John Piper
But it does. And if nature can sustain the awesome Niagara Falls to roar in the immense amount of water it brings, God is so much more magnanimous, and therefore, He won’t stop blessing us from here to eternity.
It is only up to us to come near and receive what God generously gives. When we have faith even “as small as a mustard seed”, surely we will not miss out on His favor and providence.
That is what makes God superbly different from anything and anyone we’ve known. We don’t need to struggle in Jesus. He cares and loves willingly no matter what. Yes. No matter what.
