Governor Alvarez reminds Capitol employees to avoid illegal drugs

Governor Jose Alvarez speaking in front of provincial government employees

In support of President Rodrigo Duterte’s crusade against illegal drugs, Governor Jose Chaves Alvares, during Monday’s flag ceremony, reminded all provincial government employees to stop using drugs or engaging into illegal drug trade.

“Kung sinuman sa inyo dito ang medyo lumalangoy pa sa droga, medyo iwasan na ninyo ‘yan.” he said. (Translation: “Whoever among you here is still involved in [illegal] drugs, you need to avoid that now.”

He said that “Ayaw ko na isa sa atin sa Kapitolyo nakabalot sa karton, nakatiwasay ‘diyan sa kalsada at sinasabing…ako ay, alam na ninyo yun.” (Translation: “I don’t want one of us here in the Capitol [to end up] wrapped in cardboard, sprawled there on the street, called as “I am..” you know that already”).

Alvarez further explained that we all need to “change” to conform with the new administration, emphasizing that the new administration means new style and policies.
