Gov. Alvarez joins Coast Guard Auxiliary

Through a General Order 033-A dated March 21, 2017, and Memorandum Circular 01-14 dated June 6, 2014, Governor Alvarez was appointed to the PCG Auxiliary Squadron.


Philippine Coast Guard Commandant Admiral Elson Hermogino conferred the rank of honorary auxiliary Commodore to Palawan Governor Jose Chavez Alvarez and Orlando Roa Balbon in the Coast Guard District Palawan’s 50th anniversary.

Through a General Order 033-A dated March 21, 2017, and Memorandum Circular 01-14 dated June 6, 2014, Governor Alvarez and Balbon were appointed to the PCG Auxiliary Squadron.

Admiral Hermogino said that individuals who take oath as new members of the auxiliary should abide all rules and regulations including the mandates of PCG.

“We should all help in promoting safety life at sea, protect the environment, rescue operation and coastal projects,” Hermogino said.

Alvarez, also committed to strengthening the partnership, particularly in assistance at sea.

Coast Guard Station (CGS) Sabang, CGS Cuyo, Coast Guard Sub-Statin Araceli and PCG Auxiliary 402nd Squadron also received a Plaque of Merit for their exemplary performances in their mandates of duty during the year.

Special recognition awards were also given to Coast Guard Station Puerto Princesa, Western Command, Naval Forces West, Tactical Operations Wing, Tubbataha Management Office, Underground River and Rio Tuba Nickel Mining Corporation.

The Provincial Government of Palawan, Puerto Princesa City, San Vicente, Rizal, Narra, El Nido, Araceli, Agutaya, Bgy. Algeciras (Agutaya) and Bgy. Manamoc (Cuyo) were also recipients of other awards.

The awarding ceremony and donning of ranks were led by Acting Coast Guard District Palawan Acting Commander Captain Roy Echeveria together with Admiral Hermogino.
