The Puerto Princesa City Underground River management is launching today “Alay sa Puerto” Program which offers free tour for Palaweños to the Underground River.

One-hundred people will be accommodated every Tuesday and Thursday in the entire month of September. The tour will start at the PPUR Office at the city coliseum where a bus will bring them to Sabang wharf. Those who will be accommodated in the tour will be provided with a license tour guide.

“ Ito ay para sa mga residente ng Palawan na hindi pa nakakapunta na mapagbibigyan natin.” Elizabeth A. Maclang, Park Superintendent of Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park.

According to Maclang, those who will be part of the program will be treated like tourists with the other guests.

The “Alay sa Puerto” Program will prioritize the senior citizens, students and indigents.

Maclang said that they are expecting 1,500 people will avail the privilege to see the Underground River within the one month duration of the program.

In the previous years, similar program was held by the city government to boost the campaign for the inclusion of PPUR to the World Seven Wonders of Nature which got overwhelming result.

“This time, we are launching the program basically to allow the people of Palawan to see their very own pride,” Maclang said.
