The Office of the Special Prosecutor of the Ombudsman has filed before the Sandiganbayan a perjury case against former Puerto Princesa City Mayor Edward Hagedorn for the latter’s inaccurate declaration of his Statement of Assets Liabilities and Net Worth (SALN) in 2004, based on media reports.
Mayor Hagedorn said in an interview that he was already expecting the case.
So nagulat na lang ako sumampa na sa Sandigan,” Hagedorn said in an interview on Monday, March 20.
Based on reports, Hagedorn allegedly did not declare his real properties, motor vehicles and business interests like agricultural, residential and commercial lands in Barangays of Sta. Lourdes, Sta. Monica and Tagburos.
Hagedorn then denied the allegations.
He added that the supposed evidence presented is the same with what he has filed.
The former mayor assured that his legal team is ready to counter the case upon hearing.
He also said that the issue behind the said case is purely political
