A provincial board member wants the Land Transportation Office to require holders of public utility franchise to undergo trainings on First Aid and Basic Life Support before they are issued the license to operate.
First district Board Member Chery Pie Acosta raised the proposal through a resolution stating that in many road accidents involving public transport vehicles, it is important that the vehicles have First Aid kits that can be used.
“Napapansin niyo siguro na maraming vehicular accidents ngayon kaya naobserbahan namin na dapat talaga may medical kit sila,” Acosta said.
She proposed that the trainings can be done by the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office of local government units.
“Yung MDRRMO ‘yung magco-conduct ng training kasi ang iniisip natin sa first aid training ay medyo mabawasan man lang ang layo from Puerto,” she added.
