A familiar face is back at the helm of the Palawan Provincial Jail.
Palawan Governor Jose Chavez Alvarez appointed Warden Ramon Espina as provincial jail warden effective Wednesday.
““Maski nung wala ako dati dito, ako padin naman yung warden. Kasi ako ang may permanent capacity, so dapat pagtrabahuan ko din yong sinusweldo ko,”.Espina said adding “decision yun ni Gov, so it should be followed.”
Espina replaces OIC Provincial Jail Warden Bogart Acosta.
He said he will focus on the proliferation of illegal drugs inside the jail facility.
“Kasi nakakabalita din ako, titingnan natin kung totoo at kung totoo man we will try to eliminate,” he pointed out.
After returning to his old post, Espina met with the inmates asking for their cooperation and support.
He also vowed to strictly implement the jail’s rules and regulations including the personnel.
“Kung hindi nila kaya, might as well pack and bring their things. Walang pabor- pabor,” he pointed out.
Espina served as provincial jail warden for 12 years since 2001 until 2013 where he was transferred to the Provincial Disaster Risk as Safety Officer of Rescue 165.
For his part, Acosta said he accepted the decision of the governor to replace him.
“Masaya ako na malungkot kasi aalis na ako.” he said.
