Better late than never.
A dialogue on Anti-Rape Law was held by the members of El Nido Police with the students of El Nido National High School, the place where the alleged rape incident involving School Principal and a 19 year-old student transpired on November 14, 2015. The victim is a 15-year old student of the same school.
Police Chief Inspector Lorence P. Bataller stressed to the almost 500 students the need to know the laws on RA 7610 (Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act), RA 8353 (Anti-Rape Law of 1997) and RA 9344 (Juvenile Justice and Welfare Act of 2006).
“Bahagi ito ng mahalaga naming ginagawa para mamulat ang mga kabataan sa kanilang mga karapatan,” Bataller said.
The police authorities of El Nido encouraged the students to immediately report cases such as rape or any kind of abuses.
The El Nido Police is planning to conduct information dissemination activities about this subject matter with other schools in the town.
