Typhoon “Egay” intensified the southwest monsoon that brought rains to Puerto Princesa City from Friday through Saturday.
Earl Timbancaya, city disaster risk reduction and management officer, said that several vehicles were stranded at 3pm Saturday after a landslide along the road in Km.37, Brgy. Montible up to Km.35 in Brgy. Napsan.
Timbancaya said that the Department of Public Works and Highways immediately dispatched a clearing team to the area and made it passable at about 6 in the evening Saturday. He added that trees also fell down in Brgys. Bancao- bancao, Sta. Monica, Sicsican and Napsan which were acted upon by the city’s Kilos Agad Acton Center (KAAC).
Two families were evacuated after the water level in Brgy. Bagong Bayan and Napsan, Timbancaya said.
