The municipality of Dumaran has donated a property to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) for the construction of a P7.3 million fire station for the town.
SFO3 Rico Pagmanoja of BFP-Palawan told Palawan News that the procurement process or bidding of the project is ongoing. He said the fire station will be put up in the mainland part of the town and not in the island.
Dumaran is composed of 16 barangays, 9 barangays on the mainland of Palawan, and 7 barangays on Dumaran Island including Poblacion, where the main municipal hall building is located. Extension municipal hall building is in Danleg, where the temporary office of the local BFP is located.
He added that the fire station will be constructed in Barangay Danleg, within the mainland of province, since majority of the town residents are in the mainland thus the construction of fire station here is practical, than in the town center which is located in one of its island.
