Palawan Board Member Modesto Rodriguez slammed the second engineering district of the Department of Public Works and Highways for what he called as “differences” in the implementation of projects compared to the 1st engineering district.
Rodriguez made the comment during the session of the Sangguninang Panlalawigan Tuesday.
The official cited the “quality of the road projects north of the province compared to those in the south.”
“There should be no difference at all because they are all government projects whether they are implemented by the national, regional or provincial agencies,” he pointed out.
Rodriguez called for a “standardization of road projects and the upgrading of the system in project implementation.”
Engr. Elmer Mayanita of the 2nd Engineering District said their office has “a small budget in 2014 that is why the contractors have no experience.”
Mayanita, who attended the session, however assured the SP of the quality of the projects and a much bigger budget for 2015.
“We will have class A contractors implementing our projects in south of the province, ” he said.
