The city government of Puerto Princesa is set to release the delayed two month salary of some 2,600 casual employees at City Hall who did not receive their pay during the absence of recently reinstalled mayor Lucilo R. Bayron.
“Yung job order napirmahan na ni Mayor (Bayron) kahapon. Ngayon, pwede na makuha yung copy sa employment section at the same time, mai-attach yun para tumakbo na yung payroll,” Richard Ligad, acting city information officer of Puerto Princesa, said Thursday.
The delayed salary, covering months of January and February was not processed by the administration that succeeded Bayron when he was ordered dismissed by the Ombudsman in January.
Then mayor Luis Marcaida III had asked the Commission on Audit (COA) for advice on how to compensate the affected casual employees but the matter was not resolved until Bayron’s reinstatement.
