PNP Director General Ronald dela Rosa on Friday said he is pleased with the performance of the Palawan PNP on the administration’s war on drugs.

Dela Rosa, visiting Puerto Princesa on Friday, noted the high number of drug surrenderees from the province compared to most places in the country.

“I am very very much happy with their performance,” dela Rosa said in a press conference.

Dela Rosa was guest of honor during the turn over of the joint maritime law enforcement training center in Barangay Sta. Lourdes.

The PNP chief said however that Puerto Princesa and Palawan police’s accomplisments cannot be compared to Manila and region 4A in terms of land area and population.

“Siyempre mas maraming siraulo doon, dito sa Palawan konti pa lang ang siraulo,” he said.

PNP Regional Director Wilben Mayor noted that out of 1.3 M surrenderees in the country, 3,966 users and 291 pushers came from Palawan, based on Palawan Police record.

There are also around 18K arrested in the country on drugs issue, with 174 of them coming from Palawan.

There is only one recorded death under drug operation in Palawan particularly in Bataraza town.
