CTMO, CTFRB warn drivers over-charging tricycle fare

Don’t over-charge tricycle fare, CTMO warns drivers.

Regulatory agencies of the Puerto Princesa City government has warned the tricycle drivers plying the city streets against over-charging their passengers.

Rodelo Muñoz, administrative officer of the City Tricycle Franchising Regulatory Board said that tricycle rates are P8 for the first two kilometers and an additional P1.25 in the succeeding kilometers.

Muñoz said senior citizens and students also have a 20 percent discount.

Romeo Bacani, administrative and enforcement officer of the City Traffic Management Office, said that tricycle drivers violating the fare rate will be fined P150.

The fare rate is covered by City Ordinance 253.

Bacani said that most of the drivers violating the ordinance are classified as “colorums.”

“Mas malaki ang parusa ng mahuhuling colorum na nag o-over charge ng pamasahe, at maaari pang ma-impound ‘yung kanilang tricycle na dinadala,” he said.

He also advised to contact their office through mobile number 0998-986-7123 for their complaints against erring drivers.
