As part of the celebrations for the Consumer Welfare Month, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) conducted a Consumer Quiz Bee for highschool students on Thursday, October 6, at the A&A Plaza Hotel in Puerto Princesa City.
The said quiz bee, which is an annual advocacy program of DTI-MIMAROPA and aims to raise awareness on product standards among consumers in the country, saw participations from different secondary schools in the province.
The competition was divided into two categories – city and provincial – with students from Puerto Princesa competing in the former, and students from Palawan’s different municipalities in the latter.
The provincial category was topped by Agape Cristy Espinosa of Javier College in Narra, who was then followed by Delight Marie Encontro and Kyrl Christian Domenique Boni, both from Quezon National High School.
In the city level, Rey Timothy Nalica of Palawan National School topped the competition, followed by Edwin Manalo of Sicsican National High School and Mariel Oyangorin of San Rafael National High School.
All the winners are presently Grade 10 students.
The winners of the Provincial and City level will be sent to Metro Manila for the upcoming Regional Consumer Quiz Bee Competition on October 19, 2016.
