The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) turned over a P17.5 million fire truck to Puerto Princesa City on Monday.

Mayor Lucilo Bayron unveiled the modern firefighting equipment during the flag raising ceremony with Senior Fire Inspector Nilo Caabay, the fire marshall of the BFP-Puerto Princesa.

Caabay said the city government shouldered the P150,000 transportation cost from Manila to Puerto Princesa.

He said except for the Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA), the fire truck is equipped with other important firefighting accessories.

Caabay explained there are 300 similar units distributed across the country, and Puerto Princesa City was the only recipient in the entire MIMAROPA region.
