City Fire Dep’t records two fire incidents at the start of Fire Prevention Month

As the Fire Prevention Month kicked off first day of March, it was welcome by two fire incidents in Brgy. Sicsican and Brgy. San Manuel, Puerto Princesa City which brought to 14 total fire incidents recorded since January this year.

Senior Fire Officer 3 Rico Pagmanoja of the City Fire Department said that the recent fire incident did not bring any fatality and severe damages to properties but it however notable that the number of fire incidents is increasing compared to what has been recorded last year.

This data of fire incidents has drove the City Fire Department to intensify in Fire Prevention Campaign especially during this month of March. The kick-off activity conducted by the said office is to bring to the consciousness of the people of Puerto Princesa the precaution to prevent fire-related incidents.

According to City Fire Officer Donald Rodriguez aside from information dissemination activities, they are also conducting regular fire drills in offices and schools to prepare the community to the untoward fire incidents.

One of the practices being looked into by the City Fire Department is the handling of electronic devices and appliances which are the most common causes of incidents.
