CITY COUNCIL OPPOSES COAL PLANT, TOO

The Sanggunian Panlungsod of Puerto Princesa City has passed a resolution expressing opposition to the proposed coal-fired power plant in Narra town.
The resolution is authored by Councilors Vicky de Guzman  Rogelio Castro, Gregorio Austria, Miguel Cuaderno, Eleutherius Edualino and Patrick Hagedorn
De Guzman said that based on their resolution says, ” that even if the plant will be constructed in Narra, it will not affect the city.”
Mayor Lucilo Bayron approved the resolution on June 16.
“The proposed coal plant is not the answer to the lack of power in Palawan and this resolution also supports the call of non government organizations against the plant that will destroy the country’s last frontier,” Castro said.
The SP also called on Bayron to make a stand in the Palawan Council for Sustainable Development where he is a member.
