The City Regulatory Enforcement and Monitoring Unit (REMU) has advised business owners who put up bazaars in Mendoza Park to secure a permit to operate legally during the yuletide season.
Out of 23 stalls operating in the area, only three were able to secure a mayor’s permit, the unit found out during its recent inspection.
“We did not give them a violation notice. We just reminded them to get a mayor’s permit, then there will be another inspection,” REMU Head Thess Rodriguez said in a local television interview.
Stall owners, meanwhile, admitted having engaged in business without first securing a mayor’s permit, but added they have asked the city mayor to issue them instead of a special permit in order to seasonally operate.
Rodriguez said it would soon serve violation notices once her unit found out in the succeeding inspections that the concerned stall owners did not make an effort to be compliant.
