The Provincial Treasurer’s Office has ordered a rotation of personnel assigned at the Calauit Safari Park. The measure, according to Provincial Treasurer Elino Mondragon, is part of their ongoing investigation on the allegation of anomalies in the collection of entrance fees in the park.

“We decided muna na ang reshuffling, para bigyan din sila ng pagkakataon na patunayan kung may ginawa sila o wala at ‘yong issue pwedeng ginawa nila para paburan ang sarili nila but gusto pa rin natin makakuha ng mas matibay na information kaya ang ginawa natin ay ipagpalit muna pansamantala,” he said.

Mondragon said that the rotation of the existing officers will enable them to conduct a deeper investigation into the allegation.

“For the investigation on the issues kasi maigi na sigurado tayo, pati sa concrete evidence na rin. Matagal kasi ‘yong proseso ng hiring kaya ang ginawa muna natin pinagpalit muna natin ang existing na mga tao,” he said.

He noted that the Calauit Safari park has submitted its monthly collection report for their validation.

Mondragon added that the new management of Calauit park, now under the Provincial Economic Enterprise Development Office (PEEDO) headed by Myrna Lacanilao, is also conducting a separate verification to determine if there had been irregularities committed by park personnel.

“Sabi ko sa kanila kung ano man ang malaman nila, ipaalam agad sa akin kasi hindi natin itotolerate itong mga ganitong klaseng gawain at kung matapos ang imbestigasyon na nagpapatunay na mayroon nga silang ginagawa ay hindi tayo magdadalawang isip na ibigay sa kanila ang dapat,” he said.
