The Puerto Princesa Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (PCCI) is inviting new members to help strengthen the business sector in engaging the local governments and the community at large.
PCCI President Annabelle Ong, addressing the general membeship meeting of the chamber on Thursday, July 25, said their challenges are growing and the organization needs the help of the business entities.
“Araw-araw ang daming trabaho na dapat gawin kaya kailangan namin palakihin ang membership,” Ong said.
Apart from needing additional members to strengthen the organization, Ong emphasized that it is part of their goal to encourage legitimate businesses to increase their participation in business sector engagement on local governance.
Ong said one of the recent contribution of PCCI is the reduction of excessive imposition of business taxes, after complaints were raised by many establishments. She said the Chamber made a representation to the city government and lobbied for the review of the policy.
PCCI also announced they are now a recognized affiliate of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI).
