Brooke’s Point goes after minors on wheels

The town of Brooke’s Point strictly implements ban on minors to drive a vehicle.

The Phillipine National Police in Brooke’s Point recently apprehended 15 minors for driving without a license and for violation of a local ordinance prohibiting minors from driving.

Police Senior Superintendent Bronson C. Caramto, Sr., officer-in-charge of the Brooke’s Point police, said the apprehensions were part of their campaign to clear their streets from minors on wheels.

The ordinance authored by municipal councilor Ton Abengoza aims to protect minors from accidents.

The ordinance provides a penalty of fine amounting to P500.00  and impoundment of motocycle for the first offense, a fine of P1,000 and impoundment of motorcycle for the second offense, a fine of P1,000, impoundment of motorcycle and one week imprisonment for the third offense.
