Board Acosta gets JCA support over skimpy clothes ordinance

Governor Alvarez says he sees no problem with people wearing skimpy swimming attires on the beach, as long they not pass by a school or a church.

Embattled Board Member Cherry Pie Acosta has found an ally in Governor Jose Chavez Alvarez who vowed on Thursday he will sign and not veto her ordinance banning T-backs, thongs, and G-strings in public areas if the measure is approved by the provincial board.

“Pag dumating sa akin, pirmahan natin,” he said during the inauguration of San Vicente Airport.

Governor Alvarez said he sees no problem with people wearing skimpy swimming attires on the beach, as long they not pass by a school or a church.

“Wala mang problema ang T-back basta ‘wag ka pumunta sa simbahan, ‘wag ka lumapit sa ekwelahan na may mga bata do’n,” he said. He also noted there are exceptions provided by the controversial ordinance.

Netizens have generally reacted negatively to the measure, which was initially raised by Acosta as a mere resolution but was converted instead into a proposed provincial ordinance. Many netizens have on denounced Acosta on social media platforms.
