After hurdling the recall election, incumbent Puerto Princesa City Mayor Lucilo R. Bayron is training his eyes at City Police director Senior Supt. Ernesto Villaflor Tendero, Jr.
Bayron accused Tendero of not showing his respect to him as city mayor by not having the traditional courtesy call to his office.
Reports said that after his appointment to the city, Tendero instead reported to former mayor Edward S. Hagedorn and 3rd district congressman Douglas S. Hagedorn.
Bayron defeated Hagedorn during Friday’s recall elections.
Tendero was installed on April 21 as city police director replacing senior police superintendent Edgardo Wycoco.
His appointment was made during the heat of the recall elections, amidst protestation by Bayron camp.
Allegedly it was the Hagedorn camp who maneuvered for the replacement of Wycoco as city PNP chief as part of the strategy for the recall election.
Bayron boycotted the covenant signing organized by Bishop Pedro Arigo as he allegedly did not like the presence of Tendero in the event.
