Twelve barangays in the town of Bataraza received support from Rio Tuba Nickel Mining Corporation (RTNMC) and Coral Bay Nickel Corporation (CBNC) as Nutrition Month ended in July.

The barangay beneficiaries included five that are officially covered by RTNMC, which include Iwahig, Igang-Igang, Ocayan, Sandoval, and Bono-Bono, and others that were also supported by the two companies, namely Culandanum, Tarusan, Sumbiling, Rio Tuba, Tarusan, Malihud, and Marangas.

The assistance from the two mining companies was aimed at helping the communities address their malnutrition problems, through a partnership with the local government units in the implementation of various health programs.
