The Palawan Regional Trial Court (RTC) has deferred again the arraignment of the principal Japanese suspect, Hiroyuki Nagahama, in the killing of two other Japanese nationals in Culion, Palawan last May 30, 2017.

RTC Judge Arnel Cezar of Regional Trial Court Branch 163 has granted the request of the respondent, through his private counsel Atty. Joel Tan, to receive first the supplemental affidavit filed by Coron PNP before the Fiscal’s Office. The Court  rescheduled the arraignment to August 15, 2017.

Tan said the deferment is favorable to his client Nagahama since he will be appraised of the additional evidences that will be used against him.

Provincial Prosecutor Alen Ross Rodriguez said that the supplemental affidavit will include the additional evidence gathered by police investigators in the crime scene, including the boat allegedly used by the suspects.

Apart from Nagahama, the other murder suspects – Joviz Vizcarra, Bernardo Radam Alias Bhando, and Diaz alyas Jun – are under protective custody of the Provincial Law Enforcement Task Force, while Reynante Labampa alias Buboy is detained at Provincial PNP. Two other suspects – Ludovico Batoy and Sonny Anicete – are still at large.
