Forest enforcers in El Nido recovered Tuesday an estimated 210 board feet of sliced Ipil lumber that were abandoned in Barangay Bagong Bayan, El Nido.

Bienvenido Veguilla Jr., forest ranger of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources-Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (DENR-CENRO), said the individuals responsible for the abandoned woods managed to escape the Sitio Talugon vicinity.

“Natunugan tayo ng mga namumutol ng kahoy kaya nakatakbo sila,” he said.

The suspects were able to take the chainsaw with them.
