Up to 844 beneficiaries were delisted from Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) in Palawan after they were found out to be unqualified in the program.
According to Gerald Gray C. Bediores, Officer-in-Charge of 4Ps in Palawan, among the primary reasons why they removed those individuals are as follows: the beneficiary’s income is good enough to support his/her family, or the beneficiary changed his/her address or his/her name appeared twice on the list.
They also weeded out two beneficiaries who gambled the financial assistance they received from the program, while 35 more were also warned to meet the same fate should they continue doing such act. This incident was mostly recorded in Puerto Princesa City and towns of Araceli, Coron, Culion, Roxas, Rizal and San Vicente.
Because of this, Bediores said they have reminded 4Ps beneficiaries to wisely spend the financial assistance given to them or else they may be evicted from the program.
Currently, 4Ps members have reached up to 71,500 from 2008 to 2014, and a total of P3.7 billion were already shelled out for the program since then.
